Additional Application Requirements

This policy overrides the policy listed in the AAMC Immunization form:

Immunization form is required for all elective applications. We REQUIRE a 2 Step PPD, where the 2nd step is completed 7-21 days after the 1st step- per the CDC's recommendations. A 2 step PPD within the past 3 years (or since beginning medical school) is acceptable - please upload proof with your immunization form.

For electives in Emergency Medicine: Along with your VSAS application, please submit a brief statement of intent to Applications will not be considered until the statement is received.  Include in the statement your reason for wishing to rotate in Emergency Medicine at Wright State. Please limit the statement to a maximum of one page.

For electives in Orthopaedic Surgery, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Dermatology, please upload your Step 1 Score Report.  Applications will not be considered until the Step 1 Score Report is uploaded.

UPDATED Needle Stick and Exposure Policy (November 2016)
1. Students on external rotations at Wright State University must follow the Boonshoft School of Medicine's policy for responding to needle stick or other exposure incidents.
2. Coverage for coasts incurred for evaluation and any treatment will be in accordance with students' home institution and health insurance policies.
3. If a needle stick or other exposure does occur, visiting students must also inform their home institution's Office of Student Affairs.

You will be notified via VSAS regarding the status of your application.

We do not provide housing.
