Tuition and Student Fees Reports |
||
Tuition and Student Fees, First-Year Medical School Students 2008-2009Table 1 compares current tuition and fee ranges, medians, and averages for all U.S. medical schools with the prior year. For public medical schools, average tuition and fees increased by 6.0 percent for residents, and by 4.8 percent for non-residents from 2007-2008 to 2008-2009. Average tuition and fees for private schools increased by 4.1 percent for residents, and by 2.0 percent for non-residents during the same period. The data for prior years may differ from that previously reported due to corrections and changes in school status. For example, between FY02 and FY03 one school was reclassified from private to public. Beginning in 2004-2005, the survey collects health insurance fees, whether they are required, and whether they are waived if the student has proof of existing coverage.
