Tuition and Student Fees, First-Year Medical School Students 2003-2004

Table 1 compares current tuition and fee ranges, medians, and averages for U.S. medical schools with the prior year. For public medical schools, average tuition and fees increased by 11.2 percent for residents, and by 8.5 percent for non-residents from 2002-2003 to 2003-2004. Average tuition and fees for private schools increased by 5.2 percent for residents, and by 6.8 percent for non-residents during the same period. *

    *Florida State received provisional accreditation in October 2002. They were excluded in the calculation of the year-to-year percent change reported above.
