Physician must provide primary care services for at least 12 consecutive months in an approved practice site.

Who Can Apply:

Physicians must be U.S. citizens; must have earned board certification within the last 6 years in one of the approved specialties (except for general practitioners).

Repayment/Scholarship terms:
|
Physicians must practice in sites located in HPSA's or MHPSA's to qualify for federal matching funds through the State Loan Repayment Program.
|

Amount of repayment per year of service:
|
The maximum annual state funded loan repayment for an eligible physician providing full-time service is $9,000. May receive up to $18,000 after 24 months of consecutive service and 12 months of continuous service for subsequent years.
