Primary care physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, physician assistants, registered dental hygienists.

Service Requirements (formerly Service Stipulation):

Two-year service commitment at approved site in a health professional shortage area (HPSA).

Who Can Apply:
|
Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for state licensure; have no outstanding federal, state, or local service obligations; be available to work full-time at site that offers a sliding fee scale; agree to accept assignment under Medicare and Medicaid.

The yearly amount is determined by the Board of the RI HPLRP based on the program budget for the year, but cannot exceed the federal cap of $35,000 per year.
