Family Medicine, General Internal Medicine, General Internal Pediatrics, General Pediatrics, OBGYN, General Surgery, Emergency Medicine or Geriatrics.

Service Requirements (formerly Service Stipulation):

Practice in a community in Arkansas determined by the Rural Practrice Baord as being medically underserved for four years.

Who Can Apply:

Medical school graduates who are Arkansas residents.

Deadline(s):

February 28th of each year.

In return, the community agrees to pay the physician an additional $10,000 per year and the State pays $10,000 per year.

Additional Information/Comments:

Act 1058 of 2007 eliminated the Community Match Scholarship program for medical students. The community match program is now a physician recruitment program for medical school graduates, who are Arkansas residents, who wish to practice in a medically underserved area in Arkansas. Applicants may recieve up to $80,000.00 over four years for full-time practice in a community determined to be a medically underserved area.
