Service Requirements (formerly Service Stipulation):

The loan to service obligation must be rendered in a critical need area of Mississippi for a period of, not less than, one year's service for one year of scholarship received. Service is defined as the practice of medicine (patient care) in the specialty are for which the scholarship was received.

A current legal Mississippi resident; accepted for enrollment in the University of MS SOM, agrees to specialize in family medicine or internal medicine or pediatrics or obstetrics/gynecology
