Eligible Specialties:

Students in NP, PA, CNM, Nurse Anesthetist, and Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist Programs.

Service Requirements (formerly Service Stipulation):

The participant must complete a minimum of three years of service in a Minnesota rural area that shall begin no later than March following completion of their midlevel practitioner educational program.

Who Can Apply:

A prospective participant must submit an application to the Office of Rural Health and Primary Care (ORHPC) while attending a midlevel practitioner educational program.

Amount of repayment per year of service:

Selected participants are eligible for up to four years of loan forgiveness. For each year that a participant serves as a midlevel practitioner in a Minnesota rural area for a minimum of 30 hours per week, the ORHPC will pay directly to the participant an annual lump of $6,750.
