Christopher S. Candler, MD Associate Dean for Medical Education Dr. Chris Candler received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at Oklahoma State University. He subsequently received an M.D. from the University of Oklahoma, College of Medicine. During his twelve years in medical education he has served in a variety of administrative and leadership roles. He is currently completing his dissertation for a Doctorate in Education. Dr. Candler has received over one million dollars of competitive grant funding to enhance medical education. His projects have been featured in Harvard Medical International and the international journal Science. Dr. Candler has authored over forty publications in books and peer reviewed journals. In addition, he has delivered over ninety national and international presentations and has served as a consultant for numerous colleges and national organizations. Dr. Candler is an alumnus of the Harvard Macy Program for Physician Educators Class of 2001 and has been honored with the State of Oklahoma Regents Award for Instructional Technology Excellence. Dr. Candler is an Associate Professor of Medicine and the Associate Dean for Medical Education at the University of Oklahoma, College of Medicine. Personal Statement Regarding MedEdPORTAL Peer Review I am honored to serve as the Editor of MedEdPORTAL, a refereed publication that relies on a rigorous peer review process comparable to that used by traditional academic journals. It is important to note that MedEdPORTAL is a collaborative effort that involves numerous AAMC staff, several partner organizations, and the dedicated efforts of many volunteers. I am especially appreciative for the time and effort of our invited reviewers, associate editors, and the wonderful editorial team at the AAMC.
