All MedEdPORTAL users must agree to the following privacy policy before downloading or accessing MedEdPORTAL publications:

MedEdPORTAL collects certain personally-identifiable data from users of this system. Please review the following information prior to creating a user account or logging into MedEdPORTAL. 

MedEdPORTAL will collect from you for every resource you download or access in MedEdPORTAL. :

• Your name

• Your institution's name

• Your Country

• Your email address

• The date(s) you accessed a MedEdPORTAL publication

• The reason(s) you accessed a MedEdPORTAL publication

This data will be stored in a password protected AAMC/MedEdPORTAL secure server and is not accessible to the general public.  This data will not be made available to any third parties, with the exception of the authors of the resources you download or accessed in MedEdPORTAL. In order for the authors to see your information, they must agree to a data sharing agreement in which they are restricted from distributing or using your information for any other purposes than those outlined here.

Your data will be used by MedEdPORTAL program administrators to:

• Generate reports regarding how published resources are being used by MedEdPORTAL users.

• Evaluate general use of MedEdPORTAL.

• Potentially contact the users directly to request feedback on MedEdPORTAL.

The authors may use your data solely to:

• Create a report of all users that downloaded or accessed their published resource.

• Potentially contact you directly to see if you used the resource and if so, how you used the resource.

• Report on usage of the published materials for promotion and tenure purposes.

The AAMC reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy as needed. Any updates will be posted to the MedEdPORTAL web site.
